General Meeting
Minutes
October 9th, 2024
Roger Willeford presiding, called the meeting to order with a ring of the bell.
Greeters were Ron Shuler and Jim Farrell.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and singing of the National Anthem, America, occurred.
Invocation: Bob Wilcox, mentioning the children.
Raffle: The weekly pot was $15.
A ticket was drawn from the bucket, ticket number 2137.
Congratulations to the winner, Tom Neumann.
The deck of cards has 25/53 cards remaining. Tom drew the K♠.
Jokes: John Sarnow had a good joke about marital strife.
Member Health: Maury Frey reported Art Castro’s wife said he appreciated the newsletter and can’t currently attend.
Happy Box: Jim Farrell reported Rock County gave several million to five local non-profits.
Tom Neumann donated his raffle winnings to the Salvation Army.
Other Announcements: John Janes said, “Donate blood!”
John Janes announced the Elks donated $500 to the Truck on Ice.
Tom Neumann announced the induction of Steve Skelly is next week.
Dave Thill thanked the Kiwanis Park waterers.
John Janes thanked Paul Neitzel for picking up the Kiwanis Park flags weekly.
Jim Farrell introduced the day’s speaker, Amanda Gilbert. Amanda is the City of Janesville Communications Specialist. She heads up the social media and many other communications internally and externally to the city.
The meeting was adjourned with a ring of the bell at 10:49AM.
