General Meeting
Minutes
September 4th, 2024

The meeting was to order with a ring of the bell.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and singing of the National Anthem occurred.

Invocation: Bob Wilcox, mentioning thanks for good weather and the children.

Raffle: Luci Cramer drew a ticket from the bucket, ticket number 1803.
Congratulations to the winner, Luci.
Luci drew the 10.

Jokes: Carl Cramer had a joke, about being hired at the bicycle factory and being promoted to spokesperson.

Happy Box: Luci Cramer was happy she visited family last week, and that Stoughton interclub visit occurred last night.
Luci Cramer donated her raffle winnings to Maury Frey’s family’s Alzheimer’s Walk.
Jim Farrell lives next to Jefferson School and appreciates seeing the kids back to school.
Glenn Disrude’s birthday is this month.  Everyone sang.

Other Announcements: The Buckley Picnic is next week immediately following the meeting (11AM).
Maury Frey’s family is participating in the Alzheimer’s Walk.  Last year Golden K were the biggest contributor.  This year the walk has a $5,000 donation match.
Tom Neumann announced the Farmer’s Market tent is 8AM-1PM Saturday.
Tom announced the Senior Fair is coming up, 9AM-1PM Sept. 13th, at the old Pick ‘n’ Save mall on the South side.
Dave Thill announced the Wisconsin River Woodcarvers are having their annual Rock River Valley Carvers Show on September 14th, at the Rock County Fairgrounds, from 9AM to 4PM.
Dave thanked everyone for the continued support watering at Kiwanis Park.
John Janes was thankful for all the blood donations that came in.  Keep it coming!

Maury Frey introduced the day’s speaker, Heidi Neeley.  Heidi is the Program Coordinator at the Alzheimer’s Association.  The association deals with all types of cognitive decline.  Its website is alz.org, and has information about Trail Match for clinical trials.  She invited members to reach out for materials.

The meeting was adjourned with a ring of the bell at 11AM!
