General Meeting
Minutes
August 21st, 2024
The meeting was called to order with a ring of the bell at 9:30AM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and singing of the National Anthem occurred.
Invocation: Richard Johnson, mentioning the children.
Raffle: The weekly pot was $16.
A ticket was drawn from the bucket, ticket number 1682.
Congratulations to the winner, Don Kellogg.
Don drew the 3♥.
Hamish Martin brought a guest today, his friend Gordon from England, who is drinking all his beer.
Other Announcements: Wiley’s funeral had a Blackhawk Golden K fundraiser, which donated a total of $450.
Tom Neumann passed out golf plans. The games are ‘best ball.’ Lunch for all Golden K members is free, at around 11:30 at Mac’s.
Luci Cramer announced an interclub visit to occur from 6-7:30PM, September 3rd.
John Janes announced the Truck on Ice is seeking sponsorships. John passed out letters and more are available.
Kiwanis International has passed a motion for a dues increase, for which all clubs will contribute.
Conversations transpired involving a table fees increase from $3 to $5, which was rejected. A $4 fee will be voted on.
Glenn Disrude introduced the day’s speaker, Doug Welch. Doug has written books about Milton, the Milton House, and Milton Junction. It included many old photographs and was enjoyable. The book is available for sale.
The meeting was adjourned with a ring of the bell.
