Minutes
August 14th, 2024

The meeting was called to order with a ring of the bell.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and singing of the National Anthem occurred.

Invocation: Carl Cramer, with thanks for the gathering, Kiwanis, the food and beverages and the children.

Raffle: The weekly pot was $17.
Glenn Disrude drew a ticket from the bucket, ticket number 1629.
Congratulations to the winner, Ray Szczepaniak.
Ray drew the 5.

Jokes: Hamish Martin had jokes, which received applause.

Member Health: Maury Frey reported on the health of Art Castro.
Ryan Lewis reported on the health of Ron Shuler, who had a problematic hospital test, and fell at home, resulting in a head injury and another hospital visit.

Happy Box: Ray Szczepaniak is happy about winning the raffle.
Linda Bontly is happy about her trip to Cleveland.
Bob Wilcox is happy to have had his 65th high school reunion at Rotary with 100+ people.
Luci Cramer was happy her family celebrated birthdays together.
Glenn Disrude was happy to be back from fishing in Canada.
John Janes is happy about the successful 35+41 pints blood drive and helpers.

Other Announcements: The Golf Outing approaches, with prizes!

Gregg Dickinson introduced the day’s speaker, Stacey Kincaid.  She is a beekeeper and a third-generation potato farmer.  Stacey is a representative of Invenergy and their Rock County project, Dawn Harvest Solar Energy Center.  The project intends to generate 150 megawatts, which will power 30,000 homes.  It has been developed since 2019, will be constructed from 2025-2026 and operational in 2026.
Gregg thanked Stacey for speaking and presented her with a Kiwanis Parker pen.
