General Meeting
Minutes
July 24th, 2024
Bob Wilcox presiding, called the meeting to order with a ring of the bell.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and singing of the National Anthem occurred.
Invocation: Ron Shuler, mentioning being thankful for our group and helping children.
Raffle: The weekly pot was $18.
Congratulations to the winner, Dick Peck.
Dick drew the 10♦.
Jokes: Ron Shuler had a joke, and Roger Willeford had one with good laughs.
Happy Box: Dick Peck donated his winnings to the General Fund.
Other Announcements: John Janes says the Rotary Lights preparation will begin August 1st.
Dave Thill reported the Mid-year Appeal now has $3,810.
Greg Turco announced the previous speakers left 20 One-day YMCA passes.
Glenn Disrude announced the golf outing is 9AM August 22nd, with free lunch for all to follow ~11:30 at Mac’s.
Maury Frey announced Rotary Botanical Gardens has a new Executive Director as of Monday.
Bob Wilcox announced the upcoming District Conference has two delegates, Ryan Lewis and Ray Szczepaniak.
John Janes asks every member donate names of businesses that are potential Truck on Ice sponsors.
Gregg Dickinson introduced the day’s speaker, Mark Holzman, School District of Janesville Superintendent. Janesville is the 9th largest school district in Wisconsin.
Bob Wilcox adjourned the meeting with a ring of the bell at 10:55AM.
